Early in the morning flight from Addis to Mekele. After breakfast drive from Mekele to the volcano, we will have a stop for coffee on the way. drive on sandy ground and over cold lava rocks. Lunch will be served by our cook at Dodom village, we have to show our permission to climb ERTA ALE (‘the smoking mountain’), we hike more than three hours to the active volcano, we spend the night watching the dramatic actions of the boiling lava. It is notable for being the longest existing lava lake on this planet. Erta Ale ranks one of the most alluring and physically challenging natural attractions anywhere in Ethiopia. After enjoying this great, special, breathtaking natural activity, we will get down to the camping place to have an early breakfast then drive to Hamed Ale, Lunch will be served on the way .we reach Hamed Ale around 4: 00 then we will drive to Lake Asale , a huge salt lake in walking distance, where we relax and take a sunset picture. You get served an early breakfast at 6, we start driving to Dallol (‘a colorful place’) via Asebo (‘the salt desert’), where You can watch the workers breaking the salt from the ground, cutting it into rectangular pieces and loading it onto camels. The caravans start from here. This is also the lowest point of the Danakil – 125 meters! We continue driving ahead to Dallol and stroll through the different landscapes formed by volcanic activities. Incredible, colorful creations of the sulfur and huge salt mountains are to be found here. Lunch then proceed to wekro . Overnight wekro ( Hotel or lodge )
After breakfast head to the church of Abreha we astbeha, it is excavated on 4th century, well decorated and finely finished then drive to hawzain. After Lunch depending on your physical fitness climb up to the Geralta mountains tu visit Marim korkor church. overnight Hawzain (hotel or Lodge).
After breakfast, visite either Abuna Yemata Guh. found on the top of the mountain with an amazing views but not easily accessible. After lunch, continue the road to axum on the way visit the ruins Temple of Yeha, dating 7th centuries BC, and thought to be the capital of Ethiopian civilization before Axum. Overnight Axum.( Hotel )
A full day visite of Axum, including the famous obelisks (one that was recently erected after being returned from Italy) and the archeological museum, the Queen of Sheba’s Bath , Ezana’s inscription, King Kaleb’s and Gebre Meskel tombs and the Queen of Sheba’s Palace. You can also visit the St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. Men only are allowed to enter the old church. Overnight Axum (hotel).
After breakfast, take a flight to Lalibela, Classified as 8 wonders of the world. Instal at the hotel. In the the afternoon , start visiting ,the 13th century rock-hewn churches of Lalibela the Northwestern Cluster- Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha (entry not permitted for women). After breakfast, continue with the Southeastern Cluster of churches – Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bet Giyorgis, constructed in honor of the patron saint of Ethiopia – Saint George. Overnight in Lalibela (hotel)
In the morning time, take a flight from lalibela toAddis, visit the African capital town of Addis ababa. After Lunch , Visit National museum where Lucy lives. End of the tour.
